Have you ever heard of a maker’s mark? It’s a mark or a seal that someone places on something they create to identify who that things creator is. Did you know that because God is our Maker and Creator, He’s set His Seal or mark on us, to show that He made us and we belong to Him.

For this study, we’ll be looking at some of the ways God has placed His Seal on us, but first let’s look at the rest of creation. This verse, along with many others, says that God created the universe and everything in it. If God did create everything, then He must have left His fingerprints on creation, the same way a potter leaves his fingerprints in the clay. First let’s look at the universe.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Do you know what the fundamental fabric of the universe is composed of? Time, Space and Matter.  Let’s look at the first verse in the Bible again…

Right here at the creation of the universe, God spoke these 3 building blocks into existence. We’ll take a closer look at these 3 building blocks in just a bit, but first, I’d like to zoom into our little galaxy in this huge universe.

                    Have you ever considered that the structure of our galaxy, with its planets revolving around the sun, looks exactly like electrons orbiting around the nucleus of an atom.  From the biggest to the smallest, it all has God’s fingerprints. But wait… there’s more. Now let’s go back and really look at those 3 building blocks that make all this…

TIME = PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE

SPACE = HEIGHT, WIDTH, DEPTH

MATTER = SOLID, LIQUID, GAS

This is a trinity of trinities. So, let’s get this straight. There are 3 building blocks that everything is created out of. And all three are made up of 3 different but equal aspects… Do you see God’s fingerprints?

Ok, let’s zoom in even closer…

Did you know that the number 7 has special significance. God could have blessed any day, or no day at all, but He specifically chose the 7th.  You see, the number 7 symbolizes God’s perfection and completion. You could say that it’s sort of God’s mark or seal on His creation. The Bible also says here that God formed us from the dirt, like pottery, so His fingerprints, or mark, must be all over us. And so it is…

                    The way we experience the world around us is from our senses, of those, two give us the most information and help us determine right from wrong. That is sight and sound. Let’s explore those.  Did you know that the human eye can see only 7 colors. ROYGBIV. There are many others, infrared and ultraviolet for example, but we can only perceive the 7 that our Creator wanted us to see. What about how we hear…?

This is called the chromatic scale that contains the music scale. It’s made up of 7 notes that repeat in different octaves. Once you go through these 7 notes, they go up or down 1 octave. There are also 7 octaves that humans can easily hear and distinguish, each made up of those same 7 notes. Each octave is divided into 12 pitches. You can easily see all this on a piano. 7s and 12s.. interesting.

To bring it all into focus, everything we see and hear is received by our eyes and ears, which each were created with the special ability to detect God’s perfection and completion. The most common way we experience creation has His fingerprints all over it.

This study is to illustrate that no matter what situation we may be going through. No matter how helpless we may feel, we were created by a Father so intimate with us, that He literally put His Seal in our eyes and ears. A Father that is so awesome and detail oriented, that He made the biggest thing in creation exactly the same as the smallest thing in creation. We have nothing to fear, because our Maker has put His initials in our very existence, and He can see the eventual outcome, even when we can’t. AMEN.
